The Octavium is a multi-octave effect: from your instrument signal, it produces synthesized tones one octave up, one octave down, and two octaves down. Each octave tone has its own volume control, so they can be blended however you like. It works equally well with both guitar and bass. Important, please note this is an ANALOG effect. That means two things: one, the octave UP is a distortion effect; and two, the octave down will be muddy on bass guitar notes below the open low A. These are facts of all analog octave effect pedals on the market. All new EXAR pedals use silent true-bypass switching, and they have 1 Meg input impedance, to bring out all the high-end detail even from passive instruments and long cables. The housing is rugged cast metal, in the same small size as MXR, Keeley, and other compact pedals, plus it has a convenient easy-access battery door. Introductory price: $149.95 Shipping is free in the US, and only $5 per pedal to Canada and Mexico! |
